ExQuizit review (iPod/iPhone)
June 3, 2012♫ “Don’t ask any more stupid questions
You already know the answers”
10 word description: Quiz; solo or up to 6 players. 12000+ questions. Game Center.
10 word review: Polished, slick, pleasingly customisable quiz. Easily one of the best.
You will like this if you enjoy: Quiz games. General knowledge. Trivia.
The good news: Lots of questions – over 12000. Regional adjustments (US, UK/Europe & International). Very smooth, fast and professional interface / menu system. Well written questions. Hardly any typos – I found one! Plenty of categories – you can have 1 or more active. Three difficulty levels for questions – you can have more than one active at a time.
The bad news: Solo mode could be improved with some kind of campaign mode. Persistent statistics would also be great as there’s no in-game record of your performance. Apart from that, this game is very hard to fault.
Arcadelife verdict: This is a very well designed and presented quiz app. There are 3 main game modes: Classic, where you have to be honest about whether you got the answer right, multiple choice and timed multiple choice. I like the way that you can select more than one difficulty level, meaning questions get pulled from pools of more than one difficulty during the game. The same applies to categories, so you can have all the questions from one category, or randomly selected from whatever categories are active.
Although quiz apps aren’t exactly scarce, the overall polish and sheer volume of well written questions in ExQuizit make it an essential purchase for anyone fancying an iOS quiz game.
