Let’s Jump! review (iOS/Universal)

June 15, 2011

♫ “Sorry, the world has run out of bouncing song lyrics”

10 word description: Endless vertical jumping/bouncing; solo or two player race modes.

10 word review: Colourful, polished vertical jumper. Two player mode adds a lot!

You vs Arcadelife ... I've got to be honest, I don't fancy your chances

You will like this if you enjoy: Doodlejump style games (Mega Jump, etc.), Casual two-player competitive games.

The good news: There’s quite a bit more to this than “just another Doodlejump game”, which is probably what most people will think when seeing the screens. The graphics and sounds are very cute, bordering on childish, but that’s not necessarily a negative point, just a hint at where this game is being targeted. The race mode is good, pass and play being particularly entertaining as it’s a race to a predetermined height to gain a podium spot of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Achievements and unlockables  add to the appeal.

The first theme unlocks very quickly

The bad news: The app store is swamped with games that look like this one and that probably won’t do Let’s Jump any favours. Apart from that, for this type of game, Let’s Jump is a great example and high-score or endless fans will not be disappointed.

Arcadelife verdict: A good looking and polished example of a genre game, with enough additional content and addictive qualities to make it a very worthwhile addition to the rather crowded marketplace! The multiplayer game is great fun, the pass-and-play option meaning that you don’t even need any kind of connection (apart from having at least one friend) to be able to play it.

Arcadelife rating: 80/100
