UltraDeep review (iPod/iPhone)

July 14, 2011

“I’m falling down
And fifteen thousand people scream”

10 word description: Procedurally generated endless faller; upgrades, unlockables, superpower; Retina, Game Center.

10 word review: Addictive and surprisingly interesting vertical endless challenge. Upgrades improve replayability.

You will like this if you enjoy: Endless games; stickman/doodle style graphics.

The good news: It’s addictive and polished enough to rise out of the heaving mass of very similar games. Nice character animation, and a good feeling of achievement when you get it right.

The bad news: Games like this are always going to seem fairly unoriginal because of what they are. If you hate endless jumpers/fallers/runners on sight, this one probably won’t change your mind.

Arcadelife verdict: I’ll give it a decent score just because I was surprised I didn’t lose interest within the first 30 seconds. Fellow app store addicts will know that this is phenomenally high praise.

Arcadelife rating: 77/100
