Let’s Golf! 3 review (iOS / Universal)

You will like this if you enjoy: Golf games where you have 5 goes and then either wait for hours or dip into your iTunes credit. I know, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

It's gorgeous, I'll admit that.

The good news: It looks great and there are loads of courses, upgrade items and options to change your golfer’s appearance.

The bad news: The frequent lag, particularly the spikes when you’re trying to set power or accuracy during a shot, are quite irritating. The complete downer, the reason this game should fail spectacularly,  is the incredibly stupid continual “pay-to-play” money-making scheme, whereby you have energy points that are used up whenever you play or retry a hole. You can’t progress in standard mode with any result under par so a session often consists of playing only two or three holes. Your options then are simple; wait about 5 hours (or overnight, which is marginally less annoying) or pay to buy more energy points in order to carry on playing. I haven’t done the maths, but the IAP packages go up to £34.99.

Arcadelife verdict: If this game had been priced at Gameloft’s normal level, or slightly higher, it would have been a great game to buy, even with the lag. As it stands, some kind of exercise in futile greed, I can only recommend downloading it if you have the space to spare (774mb installed) and either a phenomenal amount of patience or way more money than sense.

Phew, this game stinks

  1. hi there wow wont let you play demo on all levels and stick in sneeky cost soo i play only if i have enough for a round or too but i got this game becuase i liked the milky way corse they showed on app store that is bad news now i can never reach my level of 70 for milky way can any other golf game maker make a space golf game
