Jetpack Joyride review (iOS / Universal)

September 2, 2011

“Down at the lab they’re working still, finishing off
How do we tell the people in the white coats
Enough is enough?”

10 word description: Barry Steakfries returns (again) with a jetpack. Single touch control.

Science. It's wrong. Follow Barry's example: break in and collect their coins

10 word review: Laudable anti-science propaganda disguised as the best game ever.

This is the sort of unstable technology they're developing under the umbrella of "government funded research". What are YOU doing to stop it happening?

You will like this if you enjoy: Petitioning your MP to get scientific research abolished. Campaigning for nuclear disarmament. Wearing sandals. Pointing at pictures of Chernobyl while nodding sagely and saying, “I told you so”. Videogames.

No nukes! No nukes! Come on, get your placards out!

The good news: It’s great to see a popular developer of casual phone games taking a stance against scientific research. If more developers, for example Rovio and whoever it was that made Doodlejump, got behind some serious campaigns like saving the ozone and shit, the world would be a better place. Look to Halfbrick and what they are achieving here with their outright condemnation of science, step up and follow their shining example. Right now, if a bunch of you went and got hold of some jetpacks and started collecting coins from secret research establishments it would be a great start. What are you waiting for?

Look, it's blatant! They're not even hiding the fact that it's all about coins!

The bad news: There’s an unlockable zombie head and body.

Yeah man, check it out - gambling. Like, scientists are gambling with OUR planet, dude. Sombre message right there, please don't ignore it

Arcadelife verdict: Best game ever.

Behind the commendable anti-science message is a game that is as addictive as a crack pipe dipped in chocolate

Arcadelife rating: 98/100
