T-80 Darts HD review (iOS/Universal)

January 3, 2012

“May I please remain in this space,
For darts screech by my desires”

10 word description: Darts simulation in cartoon style 3D environment. Two modes. Game Center.

"Challenge" is misleading, as it's just you playing darts on your own... without a challenger

10 word review: Great looks and decent control method but no AI opponents.

Graphics and visual performance are very good

You will like this if you enjoy: A pretty looking, polished game of darts on your mobile device.

Taking a screenshot while holding zoom and tilting to aim is as hard as it sounds

The good news: Graphically impressive. Zoom and tilt controls don’t take much getting used to and work well. Several different dart games to try out. Pass-and-play ‘versus’ mode is a nice option.

After you have thrown your 3 darts, the view changes to show how well you did (or not)

The bad news: The lack of any AI opponents chops out a large chunk of potential fun. This game would be perfectly suited to a career mode with a bunch of different characters to play against (and possibly to unlock as playable characters). At the moment, it feels like half the game is missing.

It's very pretty, but it needs AI opponents

Arcadelife verdict: If the game stays as it is, it’s a massive missed opportunity. It looks great, plays well and has some good music and sound/commentary spot effects. As it stands, it’s easy to complement for its looks and fairly intuitive control system, but hard to recommend without any AI challenge. The content and fun ratings are both affected by this.
