EcoFish review (iOS / Universal)

April 10, 2012

“We like to get our kicks for free
Woah oh Woah oh”

It's Qix, Jim, but not as we know it

10 word description: Underwater arcade experience. Clean the screen; 90 levels; Game Center.

10 word review: Like Qix, but a lot better. Great touch-screen game.

You will like this if you enjoy: Games like Qix, where you claim areas of the screen while avoiding hazards.

The good news: For a borrowed concept, it’s a heck of a good reinvention. Game type is almost perfect for touch-screen. Loads of levels, unlockable modes and character customisation. Nice graphics – some amusing looking enemies. Gameplay is really good too.

The bad news: I’m trying really hard, honestly, but I can’t think of anything to complain about.

Collect coins in treasure mode

Arcadelife verdict: Another great, and unexpected, iOS game. I was never a huge fan of Qix, we just used to play it in one of the local pubs because that’s all they had for a while, but this game offers a huge update on the original concept and presents it in a colourful, amusing touch-screen package.
