10 word review: Top class presentation, but still only for text adventure fans.

You will like this if you enjoy: Text adventures. I might have already mentioned that.

The good news: Presentation and overall enhancing for touch screens is very impressive. The initial free download includes one whole game, so you can easily find out if this is the kind of thing you’re going to enjoy – without spending any money.

Text size/colour can be customised quite extensively

The bad news: The games themselves are pure text adventures, and not the easiest of games to play. A considerable investment of time and patience is required, not to mention memory and the almost essential map that you will have to draw yourself. So, not exactly a pick-up-and play casual experience that might appeal to Fruit Ninja fans, although I do like that game too…

Arcadelife verdict: They couldn’t really have done a better job of the interface, menus and touch screen enhancements; it really is very good. However, that isn’t going to matter if you don’t like text adventures. For anyone who does enjoy this genre, you’re not going to find any better presented examples on iOS, and Infocom fans will have already got this and bought all the add-ons so I may well be wasting my time here.
